Karnnika A Seth is widely acclaimed as a distinguished Cyber lawyer and Public Policy Expert practicing law before the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court since 23 years. Dr. Seth advises both Indian Government and International Organizations in developing new laws or amending extant laws of the Internet and advises on technology related Projects. She is Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. Her expert views on cyber laws have been solicited by the various Ministries of the Government for strengthening the cyber laws in India. She is also empanelled as legal expert to advise National Internet Exchange of India and the Office of Comptroller of Certifying Authorities constituted under the IT Act, 2000.
Dr. Seth has been consistently ranked by global business community as top notch cyber lawyer, an IT Expert, a prolific Author & Educator. Her contribution to growth & development of cyber laws in India is widely acknowledged in the corporate world and by International organisations. Her views on women laws have been solicited by the World Bank and by UNICEF on online child safety and she actively associates with ICMEC on its cyberawareness initiatives in India. Dr. Seth has also founded a philanthropic organisation, Foundation For Institutional Reform & Education to promote cyberawareness, and particularly work for empowering women and children in India. Dr. Seth is Visiting Faculty to law enforcement bodies, Judicial and Police Academies, Armed forces, Government Ministries, and Industry Associations and has authored several books, e-books, white papers, legal toolkits, policy documents and recommendations for reforming cyberlaws in the country.
Dr. Seth currently holds the position of Managing Partner of Seth Associates, a reputed law firm based in India specializing in cyber laws and Intellectual property. She is the Chairperson and Founder of the Lex Cyberia, the integrated law practice that renders cyber legal consulting, cyber forensics and legal research in the field of cyber laws. She authored a comprehensive book titled “Computers, Internet and New Technology Laws” and received the Law Day Award from the Chief Justice of India in 2012.She was conferred the Law Day Award in 2015 and the Digital Empowerment Award by the Government of India. She received the National Gaurav Award in 2017 and on UN’s International Women’s day she received the Great Indian Woman Award in 2021.
